The only IU-related news thus far involves running back Camion Patrick. Andy Graham tweeted that Wilson said Patrick is "ahead of schedule" in his rehab the Hoosiers are hopeful he'll be back before the B1G season begins.

Among the highlights from Wilson's comments to the media, including Hoosier Huddle, in Chicago:

-We're encouraged where we're at, (but) we're not pleased. Says IU has been competitive, but needs to be more consistent
-We have a lot of guys back.Points to 4 5th year seniors on OL.
-All the leading receivers back, unlike last season. Likes the offensive line and perimeter players.
-Wilson says Mike Majette, Devonte Williams will be in the mix, competing for time at RB. I think we'll be balanced.
-Wilson mentions Richard Lagow first among the quarterbacks but he says that 15 spring practices are not enough to declare him the starter. He mentioned Zander Diamont had a strong summer and that he likes Peyton Ramsey. No starter named but he does not want the QB battle to drag on.
-Talks about Tom Allen's passion and pedigree coming in as new DC. Said it's more about creating culture than Xs and Os.
-We have one of the best kickers in the Big Ten, Griffin Oakes. I think our long snapper, Dan Godsil, is one of the best
-This is by far the deepest our team has been.
-Our first three games, we have to come out of the gate fast.
-Make sure you keep the TV on. It's going to be a lot of fun watching us play
-We've tried to take time in recruiting, earn respect. I think the biggest thing that has helped is the contract extension
-Wilson on winning the tight games: I don't think we're giving games away. I think it's the difference between confidence and belief.
-Wilson mentioned more assistant coaches being allocated to the defensive side of the ball and that they are working on setting the standards on D that they have on offense.
