I played 3 years of Varsity football in NY. 1 as a QB/TE at Riverdale and 2 as the punter and kicker at Poly Prep. Did not play while I was at IU, but did kick a few times in the offseason with Tyson Beatte.

Thank you joining the board and starting this topic Hoosierwhodey...we appreciate the participation!

I've played the position of armchair quarterback/coordinator/coach for the most of my life but I have no actual legitimate football experience. I played varsity tennis all four years of high school in Indianapolis and won a 4A state title in basketball...(not that I had much to do with it!) before tennis a bit in college before knee injuries and chronic pain ended my athletic "career". I now have a 2-year old and a 10-week old and my athletic activities are limited to playing fetch with my dogs and wrestling my son haha.

I speak for myself and the other writers on this site, we love interacting with our readers so thanks again for participating!

I never played organized football but I coached Indiana high school football until my disability due to spinal disease.  I coached in three State Championships with our teams winning two titles in 4A.  I was a DC at Dekalb when we won the 4A title against Franklin Central.  I became the HC of Wayne Hs in Ft Wayne taking them to the title game for the first time in school history 1992.  We were 4A runner up in 1992 to Harrison [ W. Lafayette] and 4A State Champions in 1995 defeating Franklin County.  I was the HC of the North All-Star team that defeated the South 14-0.  The shut  out was the first, in the All-Star series and I had a great time coaching those players.

I entered college after serving in the Marine Corps.  I entered college aiming to become a Professor of astronomy and physics.  I volunteered to coach football at Bloomington South while taking college classes and found out that teaching and coaching teenagers was my true calling in life.  I loved coaching and teaching and found the teenagers kept me young and excited about going to work every day.  I had to quit coaching when I was 48 due to my spinal disease and chronic pain.
